Our live class and open fencing schedule is below. Times change seasonally, so this page is always kept current.
For what each option costs and to sign up, see our pricing and registration page. New to fencing? Start here.
Additional hours: Every day from 7:30pm to 10pm on request. The club can be open for members to fence or take lessons every day. Discord is the best way to coordinate this.
Our Classes
Fencers move up our ladder as their skills grow, at their own pace: Intro → Beginner → Intermediate → Competitive.
Intro Class
Your first taste of fencing. We require every club member to first have a basic understanding of the sport, so if you’re new, this is where you begin. Footwork and basic blade work, with all equipment provided. The Intro class runs as a one month cycle, and new fencers start on the first week of every month. If you’ve fenced before, reach out to a coach to discuss where to start. More about the Intro class.
Beginner Class
The foundation of the club, and where you land after Intro. A standard curriculum that rotates on a regular interval, covering core concepts, vocabulary, technique and tactics, with plenty of drilling and bouting. These classes focus on a single weapon, foil or epee. Because the curriculum loops, missing a class is never a problem — we’ll come back to it, and the material is designed so you get something new out of each pass. Fencers who enjoy fencing but aren’t looking to compete can stay in this class as long as they like.
Intermediate Class
A more open-ended, tactical and strategic class built on top of the fundamentals, with a focus on physical fitness, footwork, tactics and strategy. To move up from Beginner, you’ll pass a skills-check lesson: a one-on-one assessment where you demonstrate the core fencing actions from memory, without assistance. The bar is competency, not polish — you need to be able to do each action reliably on request, so the Intermediate class can build on those fundamentals instead of re-teaching them.
Competitive Track
For fencers who are actively competing. The Competitive track is not a group class — it’s built on private lessons and tournament coaching, with the expectation that you attend open fencing regularly. It’s customized for each athlete’s goals. To join, you need all three of the following:
- Your own full electric kit
- An Access or Competitive USA Fencing membership
- Having fenced at least one tournament and enjoyed it — ours or anyone’s, sanctioned or not
Once you meet all three, have a conversation with your coach.
Beyond Class
Open Fencing
Open hours where you stop by and fence real bouts against whoever else showed up. Open fencing is where the skills you build in class turn into actual fencing, and it’s the fastest way to improve. Fencers in any class can join, as long as they have their own electric gear. More about open fencing.
Private Lessons
One-on-one time with a coach, the fastest and most personalized way to improve. Available to fencers at any level — you don’t have to be competing. They’re also the backbone of the Competitive track. More about private lessons.
