This page lists everything it costs to fence with us, and is where you sign up. We accept credit card payments through PushPress and Stripe. Membership payments recur monthly, and you can stop them at any time by emailing FencingClubAsheville@gmail.com or messaging any coach in Discord.
Memberships
Your first class is free. Come try fencing before you pay anything.
- Class Membership — $75 per month. Any one class: Intro, Beginner, or Intermediate.
- Open Fencing Membership — $45 per month. Open-floor bouting access. Your first visit is free.
- Class and Open Fencing — $100 per month. A class plus open-floor access. That’s a $20 saving versus $120 for the two separately.

Private Lessons
$25 per 15 minutes. One-on-one coaching, available to fencers at any level — you don’t have to be competing. See our private lessons page, or ask a coach to schedule one.
Competitive Track
Priced per fencer. The Competitive track is built around private lessons and regular open fencing rather than a group class, so its cost depends on each fencer’s lesson schedule. Talk to your coach to work out a plan.
Camps
Camps are priced per session and are separate from monthly memberships. See our summer camps and winter camp pages for current dates and pricing.
Equipment Incentive
After three months in our Beginner class, we’ll take 50% off your next three months of membership if you let us help you buy a starter fencing kit from Absolute Fencing, a trusted supplier. We’ll handle sizing and ordering. Owning your own gear fits better, is more hygienic, and is what opens up open fencing and competition.
USA Fencing Membership
Everyone who fences with us needs a USA Fencing membership — at minimum the free trial membership while you test out the sport. Sign up at member.usafencing.org, or start with the USA Fencing Free Trial. Fencers joining the Competitive track need at least an Access membership.
Cost Shouldn’t Keep Anyone Off the Strip
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we put our funding back into the sport through scholarships and a sliding scale. If monthly dues would prevent you from fencing, please reach out — in confidence — to FencingClubAsheville@gmail.com or talk to a coach. We want as many people in the Asheville area as possible participating in the sport.
