Our Competitive Track is for fencers who are actively competing in local, regional and national tournaments, and who want to succeed at it.
The Competitive track is not a group class. It’s a lesson- and competition-focused program built on private lessons and tournament coaching, with the expectation that you attend open fencing regularly. Rather than putting fencers of very different abilities into one class slot, this track matches coaching to each athlete individually, alongside a coach-led training program tailored to their goals.
Joining the Competitive Track
Eligibility requires all three of the following:
- Your own full electric kit
- An Access or Competitive USA Fencing membership
- Having fenced at least one tournament and enjoyed it — hosted by FC Asheville or elsewhere, sanctioned or not
Once you meet all three, start a conversation with your coach about joining.
Not there yet? We host in-house tournaments every few months — friendly, members-only events that are a relaxed way to get a feel for how a competition runs, including check-in, pools and bouts, before you step up to a bigger one. They also satisfy the tournament requirement above.
Cost
Because the track is built around private lessons rather than a fixed class, it is priced per fencer and depends on your lesson schedule. See our pricing and registration page, and talk to your coach to work out a plan that fits.
