Time: Class is every Thursday 6:30-7:15pm with open fencing and lesson availability until 9pm.
You must have your own complete set of competitive electric gear in order to participate in the Pre-Competitive Class. If you feel like you are not ready for this or are experiencing financial difficulties, please reach out to a coach.

As with all FC Asheville classes, you can try Pre-Competitive Class once for free to test it out before having to begin payment.
Additionally, the Pre-Competitive class is covered in our Unlimited Classes plan. This gives you access to all non-Beginner and non-Competitive classes we hold, allowing you to attend up to (currently) 3 classes per week if you so choose and are able to. If you’d like to continue doing your Intermediate class in your preferred weapon while you begin Pre-Competitive class, that is an option. Our Pre-Competitive Class is oriented towards students who have a desire to fence competitively in tournaments or are actively competing. We’ll cover a wide range of topics with a focus on physical fitness, footwork, core technical topics, tactics and strategy. It is ideal for people to have completed at least two cycles of our Intermediate class or equivalent (i.e., skills acceleration through private lessons), and to have already been actively fencing at our Open Fencing before considering joining Pre-Competitive Class.
