Practice Tonight is cancelled due to inclement weather.   Even though most snowfall will be light, the fact that the Asheville Catholic school is closed today means we will not have access to the gym.

Our last practice this year will be December 16th.

We will be CLOSED December 23rd and December 30th.

First practice in 2016 will be January 6th!   This is also the next time we are starting brand new beginners.

The next beginner class start date, after January 6th, will be February 3rd.

We will not have practice on Wednesday the 25th of November since many of us will be travelling or getting ready to travel for the Thanksgiving holidays.    Updates about closures for the December holidays will follow shortly.

Please remember to tell your friends who would like to fence that the next beginner class is Wednesday, November 4th.    After that, Beginners can start on Wednesday, December 2nd or Wednesday, January 6th 2016.  As always, the first class is free so there is no reason not to come out and see how you like fencing!

We’re going to be organizing our brand new beginners into groups that start on the first Wednesday of every month, starting in October.   If you’ve never attended a fencing practice before in your life, please join us October 7th.   Check out our beginner class page for more details.

After October 7th, The next opportunity for new fencers to start beginner classes will be Wed November 4th.

Due to early dismissal and the school athletic banquet next week, we need to adjust our fencing schedule for next week.  Our Wednesday night class will be moved to Thursday night.  There will probably not be a Friday practice.

As you all know our schedule gets pretty crazy at the end of the year, but we want to try to get our fencing in.

Also, our summer schedule will be coming out very soon.  We expect to keep fencing Wed at Asheville Catholic School most of the time until that happens (probably in mid-June).

Please note that this Wed 5/13, class will not be held at Asheville Catholic School due to the ACS production of “Peter Pan”.   Next class will be Friday 5/15.  Next class suited for new fencers should be Wed 5/20.

Please note that our Class Schedule is updating.

Our main practice and beginner classes will be held Wednesday nights at Asheville Catholic School.   We are still practicing Fridays, but if this is your first time coming to fence with us we’d like you to make it on Wed if at all possible.

If for any reason Friday practice is much easier for you to attend than Wed, please let us know by email(FencingClubAsheville@gmail.com) or phone (301)-537-0211.

Lastly there will be no practice April 17th.

Fencing Club Asheville is excited to announce we are now having adding Wednesday night practices from 7-10pm at Asheville Catholic School, a few blocks north of our Friday location.  ACS is located at 12 Culvern Lane off of Beaverdam Rd near where it runs into Merrimon.

Please note that this is effective March 25th 2015, not before.

We are also pumped to announce that our Wed Night practice will be ELECTRICALLY SCORED!  With the full box and reels and everything.  I know I’m not the only one who is excited to fence “for real” again.

Friday’s classes will be steam for now, but we’re working on it.

 

 

Please remember our location has changed to North Asheville Community/Recreation Center.

We’ll go until everyone is too tired or 9pm.   Beginner’s classes will go 1 and 1/2 hours until about 8pm, but beginners are welcome to stay and fence or watch.
