Survey

This is a survey about the potential future of Asheville Fencing Club.  We feel like we’re starting to reach the maximum of what we can achieve in our current practice situation and are starting to explore options.  In doing so, we want to make sure to find something that will be able to serve the majority of our current membership.

Please complete this if you’re a current/recent fencer or parent of our club.

November Schedule Changes – Including this week 11/16

This week, 11/16 we have a last minute schedule change. Class will run from 8-9pm. Beginners class and Open Fencing will run concurrently. This will also be a chance for adult sized beginners to try out Epee.

Next Week there will be no practice due to the Thanksgiving holiday.

For December we expect Open Fencing to meet every week at 8pm except 12/28, when we won’t practice.

Schedule Updated today

Beginner’s class will run from 7-8pm and Open Fencing from 8pm-10pm effective 10/26/2022.

This change is due to circumstances beyond our control, but we may move back to the earlier schedule in the spring.

Also, as might be expected, there will be no beginners class or open fencing the Wednesday before thanksgiving 11/23/2022. Class will resume as normal on 11/30/2022.

Beginner Fencing Class starting Wed Sept 7th

Fencing Club Asheville is going to be starting Fall Beginner Classes Wednesday Sept 7th at 6:30-7:45pm

Location will be unchanged, we’re still at Asheville Catholic School in north Asheville.

Special requirements, please read carefully:

  1. Students must be vaccinated.  I don’t want to see the card, but you must confirm vaccination status in your RSVP.
  2. Classes will be mask optional for now, but you must be willing to train in a mask if case counts go back up.  (I mean covid masks, not fencing masks, haha)
  3. Ages are still 10+

If you are interested please RSVP by email at fencingclubasheville@gmail.com Your RSVP should indicate full names and ages (if not adults) for participants as well as vaccination status. I expect the class to fill up, we can only train so many people safely in the gym at once.
